Dr. Lugioyo was educated at Westmont College (BA), Fuller Theological Seminary (MA), and University of Aberdeen, 苏格兰(博士). His research focuses on neuroscience and Christian anthropology, the role of liturgy and ethics, and the life work of the protestant reformer, 马丁buc.
He is the author of 马丁buc's Doctrine of Justification (Oxford University Press, 2010), co-editor of Reconsidering the Relationship between Biblical and Systematic Theology in the New Testament: Essays by Theologians and New Testament Scholars (Mohr Siebeck, 2014), contributor on Lament as an Antiracist Practice: A Christian Response to Racial Justice (先驱报》出版社, 2020), and author of various essays, including the chapter "Martin Luther's Eucharistic Christology" for the Oxford Handbook of Christology (Oxford University Press, 2015).

He is Cuban-American from a family of Presbyterian ministers and theologians. Together he and his wife have three children: Linden (12), Liesel (10), and Luca (8). They also have a golden retriever, Pax.
